Our Vision & History

Our Vision

To be a church that glorifies God by actively evangelizing the community and transforming the society, through disciple making and family building, where everyone is sincerely connected and committed to love and care.

Our Story, His Story

Agape Grace Methodist Church (AGMC) started when the Lord gave a vision to the leaders of Grace Methodist Church (GMC) in late 2015. After praying and planning, a pro-team committee was formed to spearheard the project. The committee scouted for a place to rent, and when that was done, it planned for the renovations. At the same time, GMC members staying in the 2km radii of Jalan Airport were encouraged to make a commitment to move to this new place of worship.

on 3 Jan 2016, 38 adults and 3 children were commissioned at a Sunday Worship service at GMC and a committee was formed to help take charge of the ministry of GMC Jalan Airport, current AGMC. The first service at the Jalan Airport was then held on 6th March 2016. More than 60 members filled the first floor of the building.

In the year 2016, the church grew with new people being added into our membership and fellowship. Many came for the Alpha Program and heard the Gospel and accepted the Lord as their personal Lord and Saviour.

Four small groups from GMC were assigned to Jalan Airport and in this transition year, we tried to raise leaders for these small groups. A ladies group started in April 2016.

By the end of 2016, our attendance stabilized between 70 and 80 adults every week and at the 41st session of the Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference (SCAC), we applied to be formed as a Preaching Centre and be named as the Agape Grace Methodist Preaching Centre (AGMPC). The pastor appointed to take care of this new preaching centre was Rev. Lenita Tiong Siaw Kiong, who was also the pastor in charge of GMC.

In the year of 2018, with the appointment of a new pastor in charge, Ps. Linberg wong fully ministering to the preaching centre, the church moved its office permanently to Mciti Square, where the church is located now. By the end of 2018, SCAC granted permission to upgrade the preaching centre to a full church states, as Agape Grace Methodist Church (AGMC).
